Milliken Gospel Church (MGC) Profile
Milliken Gospel Church is situated in the Milliken neighbourhood of Markham, Ontario, Canada. We have Cantonese, Mandarin, and English congregations along with Children and Youth Ministries. Our total average attendance of all the congregations in our Sunday morning worship services is about 380 people. We are affiliated with the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada. We believe God desires MGC to be a healthy church with mature and committed disciples of Christ; for the work of the Gospel; reproducing mature and committed disciples of Christ; from MGC to the ends of the earth. MGC has three-fold church directions: (1) One Church One Governance; (2) Revival of Next Generation; and (3) Chinese Rooted and Multicultural.

Communicate the church’s vision effectively, collaborate well with fellow church leaders, and apply the Word of God to all aspects of life and ministry.
Be capable of leading the church to reach the lost, disciple believers (especially the next generation), and equip workers.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Deliver balanced dynamic preaching and teaching across all congregations.
Fulfill the role of an Elder, providing proactive leadership and training to the Pastoral Staff, Council Members, and Deacons.
Guide pastoral staff in developing strategies for discipleship and equipping their respective groups.
Offer pastoral care to members with the help of other leaders.
Safeguard the values and beliefs of the church as a member of the Elder Board.
Manage administrative operations effectively.
Pursue ongoing self-development to remain current and effective in ministry.
Represent the church at conferences and other commitments outside of MGC.
Skills and Qualifications
Meet the biblical qualifications of an Elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9.
Hold a Master of Divinity degree with a minimum of 10 years of pastoral experience.
Proficiency in preaching in both English and Chinese (either Cantonese or Mandarin).
A gifted communicator with skills in preaching and teaching.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and be effective in cross-cultural communication.
Must be able to pass the pastoral credentialing requirements of the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada. (agcofcanada.com/opportunities)
