Ministry Opportunity: Senior Pastor

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Have a balanced dynamic preaching/teaching ministry amongst all congregations and people groups (including youths and children).

• Provide proactive leadership and leadership training to:

           -          Pastoral Staff
           -          Council Members
           -          Deacons

• Provide pastoral care personally and through other trained care-givers.

• Disciple and equip co-workers -- provide guidance to each congregational pastoral staff, children and youth staff to develop strategy to disciple and equip their respective congregation or people group; reproducing mature and committed disciples of Christ.

• Provide administrative management in operations.

• Continue in their self-development to remain current/effective in ministry.

• Conferences; and commitments outside of MGC

Qualifications

• Meet the biblical qualifications of an Elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9.

• Hold a Master of Divinity degree with a minimum of 10 years of pastoral experience.

• Proficiency in preaching in both English and Chinese (either Cantonese or Mandarin).

• A gifted communicator with skills in preaching and teaching.

• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and be effective in cross-cultural communication.

• Must be able to pass the pastoral credentialing requirements of the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada.
