Ministry Position: Director of Children’s Ministry

Employment Type: Part Time, 5-10 hours per week (initially a one year contract)

Reports to:  Lead Pastor; indirectly to the elders

Overview

LIFE Church is located in Stratford, Ontario. We are affiliated with the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada (AGC). We are a congregation of about 60 people.

Our desire is to help people to discover Jesus and to be transformed by His love. We want to know Jesus, grow as disciples of Jesus, serve Jesus, and share Jesus with others.

Qualifications

  • Have a clear profession of faith in Jesus Christ

  • A personal and consistent walk with the Lord (through regular personal devotion, corporate worship, and submission to authority)

  • In agreement with LIFE Church doctrinal beliefs

  • Experience working/volunteering with children’s ministry

  • Familiarity with Planning Center Services (for scheduling children’s ministry volunteers) preferred

  • Regular worship attendance at LIFE Church (and if married, one’s spouse also)

  • Willingness to have a police vulnerable sector check completed specific for serving with LIFE Church children - LIFE Church will reimburse the cost of this if you submit your receipt

  • Willingness to receive Standard First Aid training - LIFE Church will reimburse the cost of this if you submit your receipt

  • AGC credentialing required prior to being hired

  • Organized, motivated, team player, caring, and professional

Responsibilities

Children’s Ministry (90%): To be effective and fruitful in this role, you will recruit and invest in volunteers who will implement the goals and objectives of the children’s ministry. You will provide consistent leadership before the congregation and in serving volunteers.

  • To help welcome families each week and to fill in the LIFE Church Kids ministry roles as needed

  • Prepare LIFE Church Kids ministry content each week

  • Keep children’s toys/activities etc. up to date

  • Schedule LIFE Church Kids volunteers

  • Oversee ministry budget

  • Oversee all things related to children’s ministry that may arise

  • Recruit volunteers

  • Lead volunteers through annual plan to protect training

  • Continue to implement a safe and secure environment for the children’s ministry

  • Plan and implement Vacation Bible School or Kids Camp during a week in the summer

Other (10%): As a leader on a team, you will be required to contribute to different areas within the church. By working as a team, you will grow alongside others by contributing in a positive and encouraging manner.
